Abstract:The world is facing another round of severe food crisis due to multiple factors such as geopolitical conflicts，economic sanctions，the COVID-19 pandemic，and climate change. Global food prices remain high，hunger and malnutrition related to food insecurity have increased considerably，and food insecurity is particularly acute in Africa and Asia，with the associated costs disproportionately borne by vulnerable groups. Multilateral platforms and regional and cross-regional regimes have acted around the current food crisis，and a few achievements have been reached. The food crisis has exposed the vulnerability of global food supply chains，reflecting the remaining imbalances and injustices in global development. Food security is both one of a country’s top priorities and a focus area for Global Development Initiatives. China is deeply involved in global food security governance and has made positive contributions to safeguarding world food security.
