Abstract:In 2020，the COVID-19 epidemic has become a major event affecting the process of human development，and it has also had a significant impact on the political development of Middle Eastern countries. The epidemic has reduced the frequency and intensity of popular protests which are popular in the Middle East in recent years. The political turmoil in some countries has temporarily eased，and the epidemic has not affected the electoral politics in some countries. The war-torn countries in the Middle East did not stop fighting because of the epidemic，and the political reconciliation process in these countries is struggling overall. At the same time，the epidemic has exacerbated the political governance crisis in most countries in the Middle East，and has accumulated new public dissatisfaction，which is likely to bring a new shock on the political stability in the Middle East. In the short to medium term，the Middle East countries are still in the midst of turbulent long waves. The most important task for the political development of Middle Eastern countries is still to find a political development path which is suitable for them.
