From a short-term perspective，the postponement of the Olympics has become a fatal blow to the Japanese economy under multiple attacks，and its GDP growth rate will shrink further. For Tokyo，the short-term impact is dependent on the pros and cons. It not only faces the loss of commercial use delays such as stadiums and the Olympic Village，and the substantial increase in costs leading to the rise of fiscal and financial risks，but also be accompanied with opportunities for the establishment of a new image of Tokyo. In addition，micro entities such as enterprises also have difficulties in capital operation. But overall，the short-term impact is limited and reparable，and the residual income from the Olympics will stimulate the Japanese economy in 2021. In the long run，if the Olympics cannot be held as scheduled，Japan will miss the opportunity to display science and technology and cultural output，and the development of tourism and sports industries will suffer，but the sustained social effects will be obvious. At present，the issue of whether or not the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be held after the postponement cannot be prematurely determined. However，the advantages of holding the Tokyo Olympics as scheduled in Japan after the postponement outweigh the disadvantages.
