Abstract:In recent years，the development of foreign buyout funds has been closely related to the wave of mergers and acquisitions in the history of the United States. The scale of global buyout funds has grown significantly and has always occupied an important position in the global private equity investment market. However，from the perspective of the investment and exit of foreign buyout funds，both were declined. China’s buyout funds have experienced four stages：the entry of famous international buyout funds into China，the set up of local buyout funds，the accelerated development of local buyout funds，and the emergence of various local buyout funds. In 2020，the overall scale of China’s private equity funds will continue to expand，the market prospects are promising，and the management and operation of management institutions will be more standardized. With the increasing frequency of activities in China M&A market，the sixth wave of mergers and acquisitions has been set off.In the future，the development opportunities and challenges of China’s buyout funds coexist. Compared with the proportion of buyout funds in Western developed countries in private equity investment funds，domestic buyout funds are still at the initial stage of development and still have greater growth potential.
