Abstract:In 2019，under the shadow of slowing global trade growth，in the face of downward pressure on the economy，Vietnam’s foreign trade has maintained a strong growth and made remarkable achievements. The export market continued to expand and the structure of export commodities continued to improve. Meanwhile，Vietnam was highly dependent on foreign trade，vulnerable to external shocks，and its export competitiveness needed to be improved. Vietnam’s bilateral economic and trade relations with its major trading partners have developed steadily. The Sino-U.S. trade friction triggered the transfer of transnational supply chain，the rapid development of Vietnam-China economic and trade relations，and the substantial growth of Vietnam-US trade scale. The trade creation effect of regional trade arrangements was beginning to show，and CPTPP has injected vitality into Vietnam’s trade growth. At the same time，Vietnam actively welcomed EVFTA and further promoted its integration into the international community. Affected by the Covid-19 pandemic，the growth of Vietnam’s foreign trade in 2020 will slow down，and its main trade partners will be adversely affected.
