美国中小学学校德育教材探析

Abstract:American primary and secondary schools carry out an implementation of moral education by setting up three courses，that is，moral education，social study and civics，in order to help students to mould good characters，enhance the skills of democratic participation and cultivate the consciousness of the world citizen so that they can eventually become a qualified citizen of the United States. In this paper，it briefly analyzes the characteristics of the moral education materials in American primary and secondary schools from macro and micro ascepts，by investigating the education laws or regulations and some relevant standards of the curriculum and choosing the teaching materials about moral education，social study and civics. In terms of macro level，the United States has no unified syllabus and curriculum standard of moral education，so the states can compile and choose its own suitable teaching materials；In terms of micro level，the teaching material’s systematic arrangement in American moral education of primary and secondary schools pay a lot of attention to the hierarchy，systematic and real-life knowledge. While the choices about material’s contents pay attention to cultivate students’ critical thinking，stimulate the student’s participation enthusiasm，advocate the students to master comprehensive knowledge and guide students to focus on community development.
