This is based on the government’s previous experiences of supervision on the company and the economic and technological cost-and-benefit analysis of using or banning Huawei. Opponents to Huawei in the UK focus on its “Chinese identity”，emphasizing its close relations with the Chinese Government，and that the company could endanger the UK’s national security by enabling China to control or even shut down the UK’s critical national infrastructure. The intelligence cooperation and mutual trust of the Five Eyes are said to be threatened as well. Boris Johnson is likely to hold on to the technical approach of May administration. However，The policy is susceptible to the imminent Entity List ban on Huawei by the Trump administration.
