Abstract:South Caucasus is one of the important passages linking China and Europe and is an important region in the Belt and Road construction.In the last five years，the cooperation between China and South Caucasus has been developing rapidly under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative，the bilateral trade investment is growing steadily and initial achievements have been made in policy making，connectivity and capacity cooperation.Meanwhile，the Belt and Road construction in South Caucasus is mainly confronted with four challenges concerning regional hotspot issues，internal political situation，economic development and external influences.Generally speaking，based on the need of the Belt and Road construction，the tendency of regional political situations and the development of China-South Caucasus relation，there are great potentials and positive prospects for China and South Caucasus to jointly build the Belt and Road.
