当前美泰安全关系：现状、挑战及前景

Abstract:Built on the U.S.-Thailand alliance，the U.S.-Thailand security relations are the core element of the U.S.-Thailand bilateral relations. However，after the end of the Cold War，the U.S.-Thailand alliance has always been a weak link in the U.S. alliance system，playing a relatively limited role. At present，the relationship between the United States and Thailand has stabilized after the ups and downs，but there is a lack of driving forces and means for its further improvement. The main factors that restrict the U.S.-Thailand relationship include the diplomatic traditions and domestic politics of Thailand，the China factors，and the South China Sea issues. In the future，as an indispensable part of the U.S. alliance system，the U.S.-Thailand alliance will continue to be maintained，but meanwhile it is difficult for the alliance to be restored to the close ties during the Cold War. The current U.S.-Thailand alliance can be aptly called an “allied partnership”.
