Abstract:“The Belt and Road Initiative” initiated by the Central government goes with the process of moderate diversification of economy of Macau SAR，and it offers great opportunities for the latter.Based on its powerful economic and financial forces，Macau could play a unique role in constructing the “Belt and Road”when taking full advantages of “One Country，Two Systems”.In turning into a very attractive global Travel and Leisure Centre and building the Service Platform for the economic co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries，Macau SAR could find the right niche in“The Belt and Road”.Macau can also provide financial services for firms of Asian and other regions.Relying on the cooperation mechanism between Macau and Guangdong Province，especially with the Hengqin Free Trade Zone，companies of Macau could cooperate with peers in the Pearl River Delta in investing and competing in global markets.
