Abstract:With the victory of Moon Jae-in，who is the candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea in the president election，South Korea’s political situation and Sino-South Korean relations have ushered in a new era. According to its policy platform，the Democratic Party pursues “balance diplomacy” in diplomacy，which sticks to both the South Korea-U.S. alliance and the self-defense in security issues and stresses on communication and negotiation in unification issues. These positions have many things in common with China’s positions on the Korean peninsula and northeast Asia，which provides favorable conditions for the resumption and development of Sino-Korean relations. Even though the development of Sino-Korean relations may face restrictions such as the United States factor，South Korean conservatives and the rise of nationalism，the Moon’s government will work with China to properly handle the THAAD problem，rebuild a balance policy between the U.S. and China，improve the Sino-Korean trade relations and strengthen cooperation with China in Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.
