Abstract:Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau，S.A.（STDM）has dominated Macau’s gaming business for 40 years. During this period Dr. Stanly Ho and his family members have contributed to Macau’s economic development with significant societal impact. STDM began investment activities in Portugal in early 1980s，ranging from finance，energy，telecommunication，property and transport sectors besides its main focus on gaming. It adapted the Portuguese market conditions and seized on policy and business opportunities，actively discovering potential customers and playing an active role in connecting China and Europe. STDM steadily transferred its assets and business to investors mainly from China，setting a good example as an investment pioneer showcasing sound overseas management practices and valuable knowhow.
