广州市居民对机构养老意愿的调查

Abstract:The aging of China is more and more serious. Institutional means of supporting the elderly is an important part of the old-age pension pattern. However， it is not fully developed at present. This paper investigates the residents of Guangzhou city to study the willingness and influence factors of their choice of institutions for the aged. According to the investigations， the number of female children， living alone， and the large cost of living expenses per month are the factors affecting the elderly to choose the institutional pension； the main reasons for choosing a pension institution are as follows： the nursing home is better than the family； the children have no time to take care of them； and their family members are unable to take care of them when they are in illness. The main disadvantages of old-age care are the absence of a familiar environment， the inability to enjoy medical care， and the lack of affectionate care. It is suggested that the old-age care disabilities should comply with the social development and the actual needs of the elderly， integrate mental care with physical care， increase the strength of “medical care and support”， implement differentiated management， and further improve service quality.
