自恋文化的反思：中国传统文化可能的贡献

Abstract:It is generally believed that the individualism in western countries has reached a rather deep extent since 1960s，and as a result，the narcissistic culture is flourishing. Scholars feel worried that people are getting more and more self-absorbed and that would break the balance between public life and private life since 1700s in western countries. Although scholars show diverse opinions on the narcissistic cultures，they all have agreed to reflect on this phenomena when they saw the negative sides brought by the unprecedented individual freedom and rights. Some scholars believe that western modernism can not provide a good solution to the narcissism. Instead，we should seek other way of thinking which is deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture. Based on the analysis of the views of western scholars，I will try to argue the contribution of Chinese traditional culture can be helpful to tackle the narcissism in two main aspects.
