Abstract:This report firstly describes the research methodology and the way of obtaining data. Then，the report illustrates the development status of voluntary services in China in terms of the general condition of voluntary services，the participation condition of volunteers，the development of voluntary organizations，the public cognition of voluntary service，the safeguarding measures，and the development environment of voluntary services. According to the research，the voluntary services developed at a fast pace in general. By 2016-end，there were 32.78 million volunteers registered at China Volunteer Service Information System；the accumulated service time nationwide reached 420 million hours；the service time per capita was 11.93 hours. The public mostly hold a sensible cognition towards voluntary services. And，Communist Party members have taken the lead in carrying out voluntary services.
