Abstract:The paper analyzed those basic features and development tendencies about the current world coal market from its demand，supply，investment，trade mergers and acquisitions and some other aspects. This paper also argued that the rate of worldwide coal consumption growth continued to slow down in 2014，and demand of the lower reaches of coal industry was at rock bottom. The world’s total coal production starts to level out，and international coal price is low. Coal investment presents a downward trend. However，the main coal-producing countries export trade is on the rise，and that the main coal consuming nations expand the scale of coal imports. In addition，developing countries slow down the pace of coal overseas M&A. In 2015，worldwide coal demand would gradually cut down. Besides，coal trade keeps steady. Australia will be the world’s fastest coal export country. The coal resources would have more intense international competition.
