Abstract:Germany's foreign policy is mainly guided by and concentrated on three core tenets:1)European Integration; 2)Trans-Atlantic Relation; 3)An Active Peace Policy.Positioned by such three tenets, the foreign relations of Germany can be divided into three levels:1)Germany's Europe Policy(the Regional Level); 2)Germany's Diplomacy towards U.S.(the Trans-Atlantic Level); 3)Germany's Diplomacy towards Countries other than Europe and U.S.(the Global Level). Germany's Europe Policy is implemented and extended on three layers. The first layer is the big power relation between Germany and those big powers inside European Union. The second layer is its policy towards those newly admitted member states of EU.Furthermore, the third layer is its endeavor to improve and perfect the "Weimar Triangle",which is a diplomatic platform to associate EU's old member states with new ones.Germany-U.S.relation is the second core strategic relation of Germany's diplomacy, which is oriented by both interest and value. On the global level,Germany actively promotes its peace policy, including policies and measures related to peace, security, and disarmament. Since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany, these three tenets have been consistently and continuously practiced as core strategies in its diplomacy.Based on this consistency, various administrations might define different focal points in foreign affairs. For example, the current administration of Germany pays more attention to disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation.
