Abstract:The year 2009 is Germany’s “Super Election Year”，where several important elections took place，the most noticeable being the federal election，in which Angela Merkel won a second term. With regard to its economic policy，Germany carried out a large-scale economic stimulus plan aiming to free itself from the adverse influences of the global economic crisis. Meanwhile，Germany was actively committed itself to restructuring the financial regulation rules both at home and abroad and to developing a wide range of international cooperation. As to its external relations，both German-American and German-Russian relations have been improved and China-Germany relations maintained sound developments. China and Germany kept frequent exchanges in a variety of fields and effective communications existed on fighting the global financial crisis and other important international issues of common concerns.
