第七届亚欧首脑会议评述

Abstract:This paper evaluates the achievements and characteristics of the Seventh Asia-Europe Meeting （ASEM 7）. It points out that the Statement of the ASEM7 on the International Financial Situation reflects some important viewpoints of ASEM. Meanwhile，Chair’s Statement of the ASEM7 and Beijing Declaration on Sustainable Development express the globe matters of interest to both sides and include various cooperation initiatives put forward by partners in the economic，social culture and sustainable development fields.This paper also comments on the values of these important suggestions. In the coming years，for building the new international political and economic order it’s necessary to ensure emerging and developing countries have greater right to know，to speak and to set rules. For fighting against unilateralism and resolving global problems，it need to be a great multilateral cooperative platform. Only ASEM can provide this great platform for realizing these strategic goals，so its enlarging functions will promote the development of Asia-European relations.
