Abstract:After nearly 80 years alienation from Africa，the Turkish government worked out the “Opening up to Africa” policy in 1998 and was later fully implemented when entering into the year 2005. Since then，Turkey-Africa relations have been realizing a quick and balancing development：a transition from the “stranger neighborhood” to a “close partnership” has been realized. Although the transition has not been reflected in the bilateral economic relations rapidly，the comprehensive development of military/security cooperation and social exchanges has exactly proved that Turkey is indeed pursuing sustainability of this relationship. China may learn from the successful experiences of Turkey-Africa relations：to lay concrete foundation for sustainable development of Sino-Africa relations by realizing the comparative balance of the internal elements of the relationship；to realize a reasonable division of labor and effective coordination among various agencies and bodies which may have business in Africa through mechanism building；and to improve the level of participation in African peace and security affairs through multilateral cooperation.
