Abstract:In 2024，Guangdong comprehensively implemented the innovation-driven development strategy，accelerated the construction of the whole-process innovation chain. R & D investment has made great progress. Strategic scientific and technological strength accumulated to a considerable level. Industry and technology promoted each other successfully and made fruitful efforts. The environmental optimization advanced in depth，and the regional innovation ability ranked first in China for 8 consecutive years. In 2025，the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation will give rise to major scientific and technological achievements and emerging technologies. The development of new-quality productive forces will be accelerated. Artificial intelligence technology will penetrate into all industries. Opportunities for the development of science and technology innovation in Guangdong will emerge. However，it also faces challenges such as the deepening “decoupling and breaking of chains” in the fields of science，technology and industry between China and the United States，and the accelerated improvement of the innovation capabilities of emerging industries in advanced domestic regions. Guangdong should continue to adhere to taking the real economy as the foundation and the manufacturing industry as the mainstay，accelerate the development of new-quality productive forces according to local conditions，give play to the leading role of institutional and mechanism reforms，focus on building a high-level independent innovation ability system，achievement transformation system，factor support system，science and technology governance system and open innovation system，steadily promote the construction of a strong province in science and technology innovation. It should lead the construction of a more internationally competitive and modern industrial system with science and technology innovation，support Guangdong to take the lead in the construction of Chinese-style modernization with scientific and technological modernization，and strive to build an industrial science and technology innovation center with global influence，and continuously make new breakthroughs in striving to achieve high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement.
