Abstract:In recent years,Russian society has faced crises and challenges due to the COVID-19 epidemic,the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict,and the intensification of Western sanctions. In 2023,Russian society began to gradually adapt to the current political and economic conditions,showing strong social resilience and forming a new normal. The new normal of Russian society is characterized by the coexistence of social stability and unity with potential risks. On the one hand,the Russian people’s satisfaction with the current situation of personal life and the state has increased,social unity of all classes around the current regime is strong,and there is a strong atmosphere of conservatism and patriotism. At the same time,there are also problems in Russian society due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict,opposition activities and ethnic tensions. The formation of a new normal in Russian society is related to the Russian regime’s efforts to reduce the social trauma caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict and create a united and harmonious social atmosphere for the 2024 presidential election. In 2023,the Russian regime focused on increasing the income and welfare benefits of middle- and low-income groups and participants in the Russia-Ukraine conflict,and strengthening social security. In the context of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and confrontation with the Western world,Russia strived to build a consensus on civilization-state,traditional values,and patriotism. the regime adjusted the relationship between the state and society and implemented strategies such as strengthening social control while actively responding to social needs.
