Abstract:In 2022，Sao Tome and Principe had parliamentary election and government reshuffle. The Accao Democratica Independente（ADI）won a majority of the seats in the new parliament. As for economic development，Sao Tome and Principe experienced decelerated growth in 2022，along with serious inflation. The trade deficit continued rising，but foreign investment achieved significant growth. The government’s important economic measures included launching free zones and conducting oil exploration. As for social development，the government was committed to improving infrastructure，and launched a series of important projects such as the Ayres de Menezes hospital rehabilitation，the first phase of the installation of its first photovoltaic plant，the deep-water port in Fernao Dias，and the No.4 National Road rehabilitation，all of which received international financial support. China and Sao Tome and Principe continued carrying out bilateral cooperation in the political and economic fields. China provided assistance in agricultural technology，healthcare，and infrastructure construction.
