Abstract:In recent years，France has taken several initiatives in the field of low-carbon development to combat climate change and achieve carbon neutrality. Through the formulation of policies such as the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy，the Energy Transition for Green Growth Act，and the National Low-Carbon Strategy，France has set ambitious goals to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and promote the transition to a low-carbon energy structure. In 2023，France’s greenhouse gas emissions fell significantly，thanks to the implementation of its energy transition policy. The decarbonization of the country’s electricity system has been particularly prominent，with about 92% of electricity production coming from low-carbon energy sources such as nuclear，hydro and wind. The continued growth of renewable energy generation not only promotes low-carbon development in France，but also contributes to the reduction of emissions in other European countries. Nevertheless，France faces challenges in reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and accelerating the development of renewable energy. To this end，the France government will continue to strengthen policy implementation，promote the decarbonization process in industry，transportation，construction and other fields，and further enhance the level of technological innovation and international cooperation through Sino-French low-carbon cooperation to ensure that the carbon neutrality goal is achieved as scheduled.
