Abstract:This report measures the development of the digital trade index in 96 countries from 2014 to 2022 across four dimensions：digital infrastructure，digital trade environment，digital trade scale，and digital trade potential. Overall，the global digital trade development trend is stable and positive，with economically developed regions（countries）having a leading advantage，while emerging economies exhibiting significant development potential. Notable progress has been made in the development of digital trade in China due to its international advantages in digital trade scale and digital infrastructure construction. China’s digital trade development index has rapidly risen in international ranking. In 2022，it ranked eighth in the global digital trade index，and its international competitiveness in digital trade has continued to improve. Based on the calculation results and international comparisons，this report proposes several development suggestions：strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure，enable high-quality development of digital trade，accelerate the optimization of data ecological governance，create a good digital industry environment，accelerate the cultivation of technological advantages，continuously expand the scale of digital trade，establish and improve the digital trade statistics and monitoring system，and promote digital trade technology innovation.
