Abstract:President Biden’s visit to the Middle East aimed at promoting a new American strategy towards the Middle East. The new Middle East strategy stressed regional integration，economic cooperation，global perspective，and great power competition，and has become an important approach for the U.S.to maintain its influence in a new era of great power competition and shifting geopolitical-geoeconomic landscape in the Middle East. Russia-Ukraine conflict added urgency and necessity for the Biden administration to advance a new American strategy towards the Middle East. In preparing for President Biden’s visit to the Middle East，some strategic analysts in the U.S.think tanks and policy institutes proposed a lot of recommendations and interacted with America’s allies in the Middle East. Through summit diplomacy，President Biden’s visit to the Middle East was putting these recommendations into practice in the form of strategic initiatives and operation plans，which making the formulation and implementation of the new Middle East strategy more clarifying and concrete. Some expectations of this visit have been unfilled because of the obstacles inherent in promoting the new Middle East strategy.
