粤港澳大湾区2023年经济形势分析与2024年展望

Abstract:Overcoming multiple challenges such as geopolitical shocks and the global economic downturn，the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in 2023 realized a resumption of economic development after three years of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control transitions，with the total economic output exceeding CNY 14 trillion. Fixed asset investment grew steadily，consumption recovered fully，exports overcame the downturn in external demand to achieve modest growth，the trade surplus reached a record high，fiscal revenues rebounded and expenditures were steady，and the financial sector achieved sound development. Looking ahead to 2024，the global economy is expected to start a new cycle，the Greater Bay Area is facing an overall recovery in external demand，the momentum of economic growth in Hong Kong and Macao continues to strengthen，coupled with the continued consolidation of the foundation for the recovery of consumption，infrastructure and manufacturing investment will support the investment growth rate to remain steady，it is expected that the overall economy of the Greater Bay Area is expected to achieve the target of economic growth of more than 5%. However，exports are also facing a number of risk factors，and it is recommended to accelerate the creation of an international first-class business environment in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area；make efforts to stabilize external demand and promote a high level of opening up to the outside world；focus on expanding domestic demand，strengthening consumer confidence and promoting effective investment；and accelerate the release of the dividends of financial openness，innovation and reform.
