Abstract:Since the reform and opening-up，China’s ocean economy experienced three periods：preliminary development period（1979-2000），rapid development period（2001-2011）and high-speed development period（2012- present）. During the era of globalization and background of marine power strategy，the contribution of ocean economy to the whole country’s economy is becoming larger and larger. The overall Chinese ocean economy will remain growing in the following 20 years. Ocean emerging industry will lead the development of ocean economy，and ocean high-tech industry will be the major measure of ocean economy development. However，there are still some problems in the process of development，such as destruction of ocean ecological environment，lacking of ocean science and technology innovation and unreasonableness of ocean economy layout.In the future，we should take some measures，such as improving ocean mentality，protecting ocean environment，optimizing ocean industry，perfecting ocean economic laws and deepening international cooperation.
