Abstract:The Arctic is a sensitive and vulnerable region and an outpost of global climate change. As core members of the Arctic Council，the Nordiccountries are highly concerned with Arctic environmental protection and sustainable development. In recent years，the Nordic countries have updated their climate targets and developed renewable energy policies to achieve a decarbonisation transition. These policies emphasise the development of renewable electricity and related infrastructure，the electrification of transport，buildings，industry and other sectors，and also include hydrogen as a key technology pathway. The renewable energy policies of the Nordic countries have played a positive role in reducing carbon emissions in the Arctic，helping to lead the green transformation of the Arctic transport industry，and also promoting the Arctic Council’s focus on new energy technologies such as hydrogen energy，while laying the foundation for the Nordic countries to participate in the development of relevant international rules and regulations.
