Abstract:Iran is one of the world’s major greenhouse gas emitters，has maintained a steady increase in energy consumption despite the spread of COVID-19，U.S. and Western sanctions，and a sluggish global economy. At present，Iran is facing severe challenges of climate change and sustainable development. Crises such as water shortage，air pollution and desertification，economic hardship and international sanctions are superimposed on each other. As a result，Iran lacks the ability to cope with climate change and implement sustainable development，and the current situation is difficult to change in the short term. The road to sustainable development of Iran in the future is “more dangerous than opportunity”，and the task is arduous and urgent.
