Abstract:In 2022，cross-border e-commerce in China and Beijing demons-trated resilient growth against the backdrop of a complex global environment，providing new impetus for China’s economic growth within the framework of the new normal. After a comprehensive analysis of the development background and external environment，this report summarizes the current status and characteristics of Beijing’s cross-border e-commerce development. Notably，Beijing’s cross-border e-commerce trade centers on imports and displays regional clustering. Moreover，this report examines some key drivers such as favorable policies，the RCEP，and emerging business models and technologies shaping Beijing’s cross-border e-commerce growth. Simultaneously，it assesses challenges spanning global economic uncertainty，data cross-border compliance and security，customer access and purchase transformation. Drawing from exemplar cases like POP MART，Sobot，and TikTok Shop，this report underscores the need for leveraging policy support and regional cooperation opportunities like the Belt and Road Initiative and RCEP. It also advocates for advancing high-end，intelligent，and environmentally conscious industry transformation while prioritizing robust cross-border data risk management and security measures to facilitate the high-quality and stable growth of the cross-border e-commerce industry in Beijing.
