Abstract:The global armed conflicts in 2022-2023 will be characterized by an increase in the number of high-intensity conflicts. Violent conflicts between states remain the largest type of conflict. Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the largest number of total war-level conflicts. The events in global armed conflicts in 2022-2023 include:the escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine,the intensification of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,the Armenia-Azerbaijan border crisis,the Sudanese civil war,and the ongoing armed conflict in Syria. In terms of military exercises,affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine,the scale and frequency of military exercises by the world’s major military powers have increased from 2022 to 2023. At the same time,the content of military exercises has become richer,and countries are paying more and more attention to the application of high technology in military operations. In terms of military spending,total global military spending hit a record high in 2022,and European military spending saw the largest year-on-year increase in the past 30 years. At the national defense strategy level,the importance of traditional security threats in national defense strategy has increased,and the national defense strategies of the world’s major military powers have become more targeted. At the same time,with the development of information technology and network technology,the national defense strategies of various countries have shown the exploration of emerging technology research and development and emerging fields,focusing on improving the modernization level of military operations and enhancing multi-domain joint operations capabilities.
