Abstract:Macron started his second presidency following his successful reelection in 2022. His economic diplomacy policies towards Africa have shown a strong continuity compared with his first tenure. This is reflected in the institutional setting and policy framework at the macro level，the development of trade promotion projects at the micro level and the emphasis on focus areas such as climate，the environment，energy，and the digital. In his second presidency，Macron is faced with multiple challenges at both domestic and international levels：the global food and energy crisis triggered by the Ukrainian crisis；France’s continuous foreign trade deficit；the downward spiral of French-African relations；and long-term competition from major powers and emerging countries in the African market. Macron’s economic diplomacy policies towards Africa will thus accentuate its focus on certain key areas.
