Abstract:On the political front，the Socialist Party won the third term in the parliamentary election in 2021，the conflict within the opposition party became public，and the president was impeached by the parliament. The economy grew steadily in general，particularly the tour sector. Tourism recovered strongly thanks to increased vaccination and the easing of travel restrictions. On the diplomatic and security front，Albania was elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the first time and continued to promote regional cooperation in the Western Balkans，but there was no substantive progress in the EU accession process. On the social and cultural front，poverty wosened but cultural activities were increasingly active. In Chinese-Albanian relationship，Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Albania at the invitation of its Foreign Minister in 2021，the year marking the 50th anniversary of China’s restoration of its legimate seat in the United Nations. Economic and cultural cooperation and exchanges between China and Albania became increasingly active.
