Abstract:In 2022，South Africa’s political order is generally stable，political reform and democratic transition has continued to advance，and political system construction has achieved remarkable results. But systemic corruption is eroding the foundations of the ANC’s governance. Under the superposition of multiple factors such as the COVID-19，geopolitical crisis，and natural disasters，South Africa’s economic and social development has encountered multiple challenges，highlighted by stalled economic growth，high inflation，currency depreciation，declining production capacity，delayed energy crisis，severe and unstable employment situation，and intensifying equality issues. Under difficult circumstances，the South African government has worked hard to stabilize the economy and promote people’s livelihood through structural reforms，public employment plans，expanding infrastructure plans，and increasing investment in energy transformation，which reflects the strong resilience of South Africa’s economic and social development. In the field of diplomacy，South Africa adheres to an independent foreign policy of peace，continues to promote the process of peaceful development and regional integration in Africa，and maintains an objective and fair position on major international hotspot issues. The comprehensive strategic partnership between China and South Africa continues to deepen.
