Abstract:As a new perspective to explore ancient Japanese academic thought，with the help of the category of Japan’s “Imperial Examination Studies”，the historical relics with the Sugawara Family as the core can be collected. It is through the implementation and imitation of the “civil examinations for government degrees system” of the Chinese classics system that the Sugawara Family in the Heian Period of Japan has become the third generation hereditary person of “doctor of literature”，the cultivator of civil examinations for government degrees group talents of “Sugawara Family”，and the strong supporter of Chinese civil examinations for government degrees system and Japanese hereditary system. The civil examinations for government degrees system from China not only played an unparalleled important role in ancient Japan，but also provided reference for cultural exchange in East Asian.
