2021年新时代上海深化国际友好城市合作研究

Abstract:Shanghai is “an important window for the world to observe China” and a bridgehead to serve the construction of the BRI. After nearly half a century of efforts，Shanghai has established sister city relations with 92 cities in 59 countries in the world，and has continued to carry out various forms of exchanges and cooperation activities. In the new era，Shanghai shoulders the mission of being a pacesetter in reform and opening up and a pioneer in innovation and development. It should grasp the national policy guidance and favorable environment，promote the reshaping of opening-up advantages and the reconstruction of opening image，and take deepening the cooperation between sister cities as an important focus for promoting a new round of great development and an important driving force for Shanghai to serve the construction of the BRI，in key areas，for example，reshaping regional production and supply chain，stabilizing global and regional value chain，participating in the China International Import Expo，building a “reservoir” of international talent，exploring city governance experience，and developing third-party markets，Shanghai should actively work with international sister cities to build a bridge of friendship，seek common development，share the fruits of cooperation，and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
