Abstract:In 2020，the COVID-19 pandemic was raging，the global public health crisis was worsening，the world economy was in a downturn，anti-globalization trend was prevailing，unilateralism，protectionism and hegemonism were rampant. In the face of profound changes unseen in a century，China，under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core，has held high the banner of peace，development，cooperation and win-win，and upheld multilateralism，through platforms and mechanisms such as the United Nations，the World Health Organization，the G20，the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization，by negotiating and concluding treaties，issuing joint statements or declarations，has participated actively in international cooperation on the prevention and control of major infectious diseases，promoted the building of a community of common health for mankind；upheld economic globalization，promoted the development of international economic and trade rules；signed the first phase trade agreement between China and the US，resolved the trade dispute；launched the Global Data Security Initiative，contributed to global data security；joined the Arms Trade Treaty，safeguarded world peace and security. China has further demonstrated its great image as a responsible major country and promoted steady and solid progress in the international system.
