Abstract:The happen of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020 has brought a huge impact on cultural and museum industry in Malaysia. With a series of “Movement Control Order” in place，museums were forced to close temporarily and many planned events had to be cancelled or postponed. As foreign tourists were not able to enter the country and local people were restricted at home，the number of visitors has dropped significantly，and foreign cooperation and exchanges have also encountered many obstacles. While the COVID-19 epidemic has brought huge negative impact on the cultural and museum industry in Malaysia，it has also gradually revealed a series of weaknesses in the development of the industry，such as low level of digitalization，relatively simple publicity methods and content，and lack of creativity in cultural creative products. The existence of these weaknesses not only affects the sustainable development of Malaysia’s cultural and museum industry，but also reduces the industryvs resilience and anti-risk ability，which should arouse introspection of relevant departments.
