Abstract:In the France，the left-wing Socialist Party suffered a crushing defeat in the 2022 presidential election，receiving only the tenth largest number of votes among the 12 presidential candidates. This defeat is a continuation of the fourth recession in the Socialist Party’s history. At the same time，the Socialist Party called for a major left-wing coalition to form a “New Épinay” in preparation for the 16th legislative elections，but it did not receive a response from any party on the left，and had no choice but to join the “Nouvelle union populaire écologique et sociale” led by the far-left “France insoumise”. From the former leader of the left wing，it was reduced to a minor follower of the left-wing coalition and the far-left parties. The decline of the left-wing Socialist Party and the right-wing Republican Party，as well as the strength of the “Rassemblement national” and the rise of the far-left “France insoumise”，will lead to the deconstruction and reorganization of the existing political party structure，which may result in a new five-polar structure consisting of the center party “Renaissance”，the right-wing Republican Party，the left-wing Socialist Party，the far-right “Rassemblement national” and the far-left “France insoumise”. The final outcome will depend on the results of the 16th legislative elections and even the Senate and local elections.
