Abstract:Macron is a representative of the new generation European politicians. He came to power in 2017 amid the call for reform and vowed to realize the renaissance of France. In Macron’s policy system，domestic reform，European construction and great power status of France are Trinity. Its ideological foundation is the combination of progressivism，Europeanism and multilateralism. At present，France and Europe are in deep internal and external difficulties and Macron who has just been re-elected as the president takes European policy as the main focus and actively promotes European strategic autonomy，so as to combine internal and external factors and realize his aspirations. On the whole，Macron’s European policy has a certain idealistic color，but also faces many practical challenges and opportunities，and its positive role could not be ignored. This is why Macron is called “the last president of Europe”.
