Abstract:After more than 30 years of construction，China has formed a national trunk road network with expressway skeleton network. The expressway network has become a strategic resource and facility to support the country’s economic development，serve the people’s life and guarantee national security. The development of expressway intelligent industry started relatively late in China，and has gone through three stages of development. At present，it has entered the sustained growth stage which is highly concerned by the industry. Starting from the definition of expressway intelligent industry and combining with many data statistics，this paper objectively analyzes the industrial development environment，industrial scale，industrial competitiveness，and regional development characteristics of expressway，and summarizes some problems existing in the industrial chain，market environment and compound talents. And put forward the future industrial development in the industrial structure，research and development investment，talent technology competition mechanism，specific implementation path of the relevant needs. This paper clarifies the content of industrial policy，technological innovation，standard establishment，etc. to support the general trend of stable development of the industry. On this basis，the market supply，demand and scale were predicted. Finally，in view of the problems and development needs，this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for the future development of the industry，such as improving industrialization layout，digging out the needs of the market，accelerating the creation of intelligent nighway industry development source，improving talent reserve，building a good market environment，strengthening policy guidance and capital investment，which has certain reference value.
