1928～1949年中国银行海外行处述略

Abstract:The Bank of China，formerly known as the Ta-Ching Government Bank，was founded in 1905 and exercised central banking rights in the late Qing dynasty and warlord periods. In 1928，the Bank of China was reorganized by the National Government in Nanjing into a government-chartered international exchange bank. As a result，the Bank of China began to build an overseas network of institutions covering Europe，Asia，the United States，and Australia. It handled overseas remitt-ances，foreign debt management，overseas trade，and support for the war effort，among others. This paper gives a brief overall picture of the Bank of China’s overseas branches from 1928 to 1949，before the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
