Abstract:In October 2020，Homeland Union—Lithuanian Christian Democrats won in the parliamentary election. It has formed a coalition government with the Freedom Party and the Liberals Movement of the Republic of Lithuania. Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic，Lithuania’s economy slowed down in 2020. In foreign affairs，Lithuania moved closer to the U.S. and enhanced its cooperation with the EU. It still considered Russia as its greatest threat. In terms of social affairs，Lithuania’s population increased for the first time since 1991. Although the government improved social protection，gender inequality and regional balance remained. In relations with China，although the Lithuanian government has maintained economic cooperation with China，the government’s pro-west attitude on the Taiwan issue and on investment from China causes tensions on the relationship.
