Abstract:In 2020，with the changes in the international and domestic situations，Japan has made some adjustments to the foreign policy and diplomatic positioning of the Pacific island countries. On the political issues，it has further gained the trust of the Pacific island countries，but the target is somewhat focused. In terms of economic diplomacy，cooperation with Pacific island countries has been further strengthened，but in more diversified ways. In the field of aid diplomacy，the needs of Pacific island countries have been further met，but the types of aid have changed. In 2021，Japan will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Pacific island countries on the original basis. However，influenced by internal and external factors，Japan will pay more attention to its diplomatic strategy with Pacific island countries from the perspective of geopolitical security.
