Abstract:Singapore is one of the first countries in Southeast Asia to deal with the new epidemic. The spread of the global epidemic has caused serious impact on the economic and social development of Singapore. The 2020 general election in Singapore was held in an epidemic situation. Although the People’s Action Party（PAP）won the majority of seats and remained in power，its total vote percentage was lower than that of the previous election. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong admitted that the result was “not as ideal as expected”. In the global spread of the situation，the Singapore economy plummet，suffered the worst recession since the founding of the people’s government has repeatedly lowered expectations of economic growth，the most serious is affected by the outbreak related to tourism industry（including air transport，accommodation，the arts，entertainment and entertainment），consumer domestic service（retail，food service and land transport）and construction. During the epidemic，Singapore placed epidemic prevention and control at the top of its national agenda. The government continued to introduce a series of policies and measures to prevent the epidemic，stabilize the economy，society and people’s livelihood，in an attempt to get out of the shadow of the epidemic as soon as possible. In the post-epidemic era，preventing and controlling the epidemic thoroughly，promoting economic recovery and stabilizing social order will remain the top priorities for the new cabinet.
