Abstract:The dispute over the Science Council of Japan was the first political event to attract the attention of the government and the civilian after Suga Yoshihide became Prime Minister. This event was considered as the Suga administration’s intention to carry out administrative reform of the Science Council of Japan，which fundamentally reflected his political attempt to continue Abe’s political route under the constitutional amendment to reform the security policy，strengthen the armed forces of Japan，and crackdown on the opponents. The dispute caused wide discussion. In addition to speculation about the motives for the cabinet’s rejection，among the two distinct factions of supporters，the supporters of the Science Council of Japan questioned the legitimacy of the Suga administration’s behavior，while supporters of the Suga administration criticized the Science Council of Japan itself had a lot of flaws，endangering the future development of the country.
