Abstract:France and Lebanon have deep historical ties. France used to be the mandate of Lebanon and is considered to be the founder of the modern Lebanese nation. After Lebanon’s independence，France still intervenes in the country’s domestic and foreign affairs through political，military，economic and other means，exerting its unique influence. In the current international situation，Lebanon is strategically more important to France than ever before. The two countries maintain close military，political and cultural relations，but their economic and trade relations are relatively weak. Moreover，France has outstanding performance in development assistance to Lebanon. At present，France has once again got involved in Lebanon’s politics by using the opportunity provided by Beirut explosion event，urging Lebanese politicians to form a new government and develop a reform roadmap. Although France occupies an advantageous position in Lebanon’s affairs，it will inevitably encounter a lot of resistance from both within and outside Lebanon，which would limit its policy effects.
