Abstract:France’s aid policy to Africa under the Macron administration was based on promoting economic growth，youth-based development and maintaining regional stability. The COVID-19 epidemic in Africa has led to economic recession，youth unemployment，increased poverty and damage to the health care system，which has shaken France’s approach to aid to Africa. In response to the epidemic，France has adapted its aid policy in a timely manner，providing assistance in different areas such as support for economic development，medical assistance and cooperation in scientific research，as well as playing a leading role through the international multilateral cooperation framework. However，France’s aid policy to Africa has always been aimed at maintaining France’s interests in Africa and enhancing its international influence. In essence，it is still a diplomatic tool to continue the special relationship between France and Africa.
