Abstract:The overall China-Europe relations made steady progresses in 2017.China carried out all-round diplomacy with Europe which is sustainable，balanced and deep-going，and its pragmatic cooperation with the EU，EU Member States，and the sub-regions in Europe has been further consolidated and improved. Converging consensus and intensifying cooperation proved to be the theme of China-Europe relations in 2017.Over the past year，high-level meetings and exchanges between the leaders of China and Europe were frequent，while at the same time，mutual beneficial cooperation and amicable exchanges in the fields of economy and trade，investment，science and technology，humanities and global governance between the two sides were continuously expanded. Nevertheless，the year of 2017 witnessed the Europeans’ politicizing of bilateral economic and trade issues，rising investment protectionism and increasing political doubts about China，all of which constituted severe challenges to China-Europe relations. It is therefore necessary for both China and Europe to continue their endeavours to strengthen political mutual trust，promote pragmatic cooperation in various fields，and properly manage and handle the disagreements which have already existed and may arise in the future，in order to jointly Promote to a more sustained，stable，and healthy development of the China-Europe Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
